Tuesday’s programme invites you to travel across the city to discover the projects and people shaping the future of Aotearoa’s design.
Kick off your morning at Grimshaw in the CBD for “The CRL Legacy: Integrated Design at the Station Scale“. Join architects from Grimshaw and WSP for a rare discussion on the architectural and engineering evolution of Auckland’s city-shaping stations. Learn how complex infrastructure is being transformed into world-class civic spaces that are distinctly Tāmaki Makaurau.
Head south to Te Ngahere in Manukau for “Mai i Konei: Stories of Indigenous Design and Innovation“. This powerful panel discussion, hosted by Konei, celebrates creativity and indigenous excellence in South Auckland. Hear from designers across spaces and products as they share their journeys of building brands and creating unique products that represent the voice of our community.
As you make your way back via the South Western motorway, stop at Blum in Avondale for “Age Explorer: Designing Homes for a Lifetime“. This immersive session features a panel of experts discussing the principles of future-proofed design. You will also have the chance to experience Blum’s unique Age Explorer suit, which simulates the physical challenges of ageing to help us better understand the importance of accessibility in our homes.
On your route back to the CBD, take the opportunity to explore our Design Circuits through Avondale, New Lynn, Pt Chevalier, and Grey Lynn. This is the perfect time to visit local highlights like Artedomus, 159 Design, and Kayu to see their latest collections and experience the creative pulse of these neighbourhoods.
The day concludes in the CBD with the exclusive “Designing Futures: A Dulux ‘Pay It Forward’ Dinner” at Bossi. This invitation-only event connects established industry leaders with emerging designers for an evening of mentorship and conversation.
Use your Design Circuit maps to coordinate your visits and make the most of the exclusive offers available at participating showrooms throughout the week.
