NZDW Itinerary: Monday 2 March

START YOUR WEEK WITH NZDW

The first Monday of NZ Design Week 2026 is packed with opportunities to connect and explore. From morning networking to city-wide tours, here is how to spend your day on 2 March.

KICK OFF AT CRESTLINE

Start your week at Crestline Furniture Systems for “Our Common Thread: A Tapestry of People and Place“. Join fellow creatives over breakfast for an interactive session where you will contribute to a collaborative tapestry guided by a master weaver. It is a unique opportunity to weave your personal narrative into the shared fabric of Aotearoa’s design landscape.

MID-MORNING AT CASA

Head over to Faraday Street for “The Unified Vision: Mastering the Design-Build Partnership“. Join Mark Andrews of CASA Construct alongside Strata Architects and Studio 11:11 for a transparent panel discussion on the mechanics of high-end residential architecture. This session explores how early-stage integration between builder and architect preserves design integrity.

EXPLORE THE DESIGN CIRCUITS

Spend your afternoon navigating the Parnell and Mt Eden Design Circuits. With over 30 showrooms, studios, and public art displays, these curated routes are designed to be explored at your own pace. Keep an eye out for the GreenAir installation and event at Hotel Grand Chancellor on Wellesley Street, where you can experience a multi-sensory passage that demonstrates the restorative power of nature in our city centre.

A SPECIAL AFTERNOON SOUTH

If you secured a spot for our exclusive guided tour, head south to Sylvia Park for “IKEA: Designing Life in Aotearoa”. This behind-the-scenes experience offers an insightful look at how the iconic brand has localised its philosophy for New Zealand homes. The evening concludes with networking and a taste of Sweden in the IKEA restaurant. View the full programme here.
